  1. Do attorneys at Hughes & Zehntbauer, LLP practice all types of law?     -We focus our practice on corporate and real estate issues. However, we are available to provide a variety of other services such as probating an estate or assisting with general family law issues. If we are not available to assist you, we will be happy to provide a referral to other Oregon attorneys who may be better suited to your legal needs.  [ T O P ]
  2. How much does Hughes & Zehntbauer, LLP charge for legal services?     -Our hourly rate is near the mid to low end for attorneys in the downtown Portland area. We are able to provide many services (but not all) on a flat fee basis. Otherwise, our time is tracked and invoiced to our clients in six minute increments (tenths of an hour). A retainer may be required in certain situations. Contact Us to determine the approximate charges for your legal matter.  [ T O P ]
  3. Is an attorney-client relationship created over the internet?     -No. It is against our firm policy to create an attorney-client relationship over the internet. Although we hope you will use our web-site to contact the office, no attorney-client relationship will be formally created until a potential client receives, signs, and returns a written fee agreement clearly outlining the scope of our representation and the charge for our services.  [ T O P ]
  4. Is email correspondence protected by the attorney-client privilege?     -Unless email between an attorney and a client is encrypted, email may NOT be protected by the attorney-client privilege. In fact, the general wisdom is to consider an email as a postcard with text available for review by anyone handling the message. Email often goes through several servers prior to reaching the recipient, and the attorney-client privilege may be lost. We address this issue by providing a SSL area in which clients can upload and retrieve secure documents.  [ T O P ]
  5. Is parking available at Hughes & Zehntbauer, LLP?     - Yes. Parking is available under the Bank of America Financial Center, and we validate parking for our clients. To enter the parking lot, proceed North on SW 2nd Avenue (our building will be on your right after you cross SW Morrison St.); take a sharp right immediately before heading east across the Morrison Bridge. The entrance to our lot is on your right. Please call (503) 226-2260 for further directions.  [ T O P ]
